Welcome to ICAN of Rochester!
The purpose of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, and all of it’s local chapters, is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).
Our goal at ICAN of Rochester is to educate the public about the rising cesarean epidemic through education in the forms of supporting local groups and practitioners who adhere to the Mother Friendly Childbirth Initiative (http://www.motherfriendly.org/), loaning out educational material (books and DVD’s), and participating in local outreach opportunities.
We strive to offer support to women and their families through monthly meetings, help in gathering information they are seeking, and lending a sympathetic ear and a safe place to process their birth experiences.
Please contact us if you need anything. We are here to help make birth in Rochester a safer and more rewarding experience for all women.
